Sheldon Dawson Freelance Illustrator

Sheldon’s latest paintings “Dust and Thunder” and “Buffalo Hunt” will be on display  during the “Gift of Art” exhibition from November 14 to December 31, 2010, at MEDEA Gallery, 132 Osborne Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Sheldon recently completed two new paintings depicting the historical Metis figures Cuthbert Grant and Isabelle Branconnier Vandal. These images will be used as book covers for the latest edition of The Battle of Seven Oaks and the new release Times of Trouble published by the Louis Riel Institute.

Sheldon recently coordinated the publishing of a 28-page children’s book featuring artwork by the members of the Medea Gallery Artists’ Co-operative. A is for Artist interprets the alphabet through the creative vision of 24 Manitoba artists and introduces children to the world of original art.
